R & R Donaji-- Hi Donaji, I’ve been meaning write to you, I just got a little busy when we got back from our honeymoon with planning the NYC reception. I wish you could help me with that one too. We can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for us. The wedding was really fantastic and all the guests are still raving about it. We really had such a wonderful time. The food was so good and the cake too. Every time I have cake now, I say, this is not as good our wedding cake. Anyway, if you ever come and visit New York, I hope you will let us know because we would really love to see you. Thanks again. K & M

Our friends cannot stop talking about how beautiful and intimate the wedding was. Donaji, Andres, and the staff also have such wonderful spirit, you made us feel right at home at our new favorite restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious. The DJ was so on target with his music - it was as if he grew up with us... J & J My wife and I got married on April 2007 at Al Cielo and it was perfect. Everything about this place is magical. The beach is stunning, the rooms romantic and the people extremely welcoming. The service at this hotel is outstanding and the restaurant is increadible. Olga and Donaji, the manager and wedding co-ordinators did an amazing job... Australia We had our wedding March 2007! It was the wedding of our dreams! From the ceremony to the reception... amazing. We had 60 guests travel with us... and we sure partied. Olga, Andres and Leilana were all great and very accommodating. (also I can't forget the bartender). I miss Mexico- especially the Al cielo. We plan to visit there for our one year anniversary...or two- this hotel will always bring us some great memories!!!!! NJ , USA Alcielo was the fulfilment of a dream. The location was exquisite, the food was divine, the staff were lovely, and our wedding planners, Olga and Donaji, were inspired, fun, absolutely thorough, and remarkably warm. Jonny Goad I cannot say enough about this place, it is just breathtaking! I did not stay here, but stayed at Akumal and rented a couple of Villas there for our wedding party and guest while having the the wedding at Al Cielo. My husband and I landed before any guest came and we scoped out the places we were to stay at and decided to visit Al Cielo and have lunch when we landed. We were blown away, the excitement of knowing we were going to have our wedding at such a majestic place had doubled! The service for our impromptu lunch was impeccable, friendly staff, the food was so fresh and was truly cuisine in nature. It was very romantic to be there with my future husband having lunch, but it was even more romantic getting married there. It was perfect... I don't know where to start! Al Cielo...ahh a breath of perfect air! We did not stay at the boutique resort, but I was given a room (Fuego) to get ready in. The room was rustic with dark wood shutters and screens. They seemed to work for letting the breeze in and keeping bugs and pre-ceremony on lookers at bay. Even with all the stress minutes before the big walk down the pristine beach, I never broke a sweat...In JULY! It was later than we planned (1hour late!) but it was perfect. The room had 2 soft double beds and white sheers hanging from all 4 corners of each. Very romantic! The bathroom was modern and minimalist. I didn't pay close attention to it though. The staff there was magnificent! Especially Olga who invited us 2 days before the ceremony for a tasting. It was a thurs, and only about 6-8 people there before us. When we arrived, after looking on-line for months with only a few pics to go on, I was nervous, but when I turned the corner of the back of the building, I HAD to stop and take it all in. This place was awesome! The tasting was out if this world! The house red was very good. We dined on both grilled quail and Yellowfin after starting with the tempura. We wondered if it could be as good when recreated for 35 people, and it was! The owner was there on site and seemed to have his hand in every fine detail, including fixing me a mean martini of some sort at the reception:) The inside restaurant was clean and elegant and the settings were all perfect. All the details were done with precision...the owner has a good eye and really puts a lot of his own effort to the decor and it shows. We had the DJ who was there playing lounge on the thursday before, come to the reception to play. The vibe was incredible! I can't say enough about this place....it truly is a little piece of heaven! We can;t wait till we can go and get to stay a while!! Thanks Olga, for everything! In 2004 I searched high and low for a chic, rustic and secluded (read: nothing like Playa del Carmen) location for a small, intimate wedding. Al Cielo fit the bill perfectly. We booked the entire place for a weekend in February 2005 and invited 60 of our friends and family to join us for a night to remember. Though we could only have a handful of guests stay with us at the hotel (there are only four poetically rustic rooms, which regrettably, i have no photos of), we were able to bus in the rest from Playa del Carmen and other area hotels. I can't really begin to describe the evening as it unfolded but it was pure magic! Without a doubt the best night of my life AND the best experience I've ever had in Mexico! Andres and the Al Cielo staff saw to it that the evening beach wedding was beautifully lit with tons of candles and graceful sheets of fabric wafting in the wind. And the food! What a refined pleasure. After ingesting more beans, rice and tacos al carbon than we could stand while staying in Playa earlier that week, it was refreshing to dine on Al Cielo's fantastic Euro-inflected cuisine (which was served in the stunning palapa restaurant only footsteps from the crashing waves of the ocean). Andres completely understood the aesthetic we were going for and created an unforgettable mood (imagine Cabanas La Conchita in Tulum and the Deseo in Playa becoming one). The experience was simultaneously stylish, casual, refined, minimal, and indulgent. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Al Cielo is a first class wedding destination and top-notch travel respite for travelers who crave style and authenticity.  We had our wedding ceremony on the beach in Xpu-ha, in front of the Al Cielo restaurant, and then had a cocktail hour on the beach and dinner right there. The staff and service were outstanding, and the location was incredible. From rose petals on the sand, to luminaries, to recommendations for music, we were impressed with the restaurant in every way.
